Tips to Carefully Clean Your Dentures

Be careful to not let dentures slip out of your hand and break when cleaning. Hold your denture firmly over a water-filled sink or a towel placed on a surface to clean safely.
Your denture needs cleaning after each meal to get rid of food particles stuck around or underneath your denture teeth. Use special denture brushes and cleaners for the purpose and then rinse with water.
Just like natural teeth, dentures too can get stained due to smoking and drinking coffee, tea, or red wine. Make sure to rinse your dentures after consuming these products to prevent staining.
Soaking your dentures once every week can help you rid your denture of bacteria, stains, and tartar. Just put your denture in a cleaning solution, and it will loosen buildup from even hard-to-reach areas. After soaking, use a denture brush to clean all surfaces and rinse with water.
Never use hot water for any cleaning purpose, rinsing or soaking, to prevent damage.
Never use toothpaste or bleach for denture cleaning. Although specialized denture cleaning solutions are available in stores, stronger cleaners may only be purchased from denture clinics. Apex Denture Centre Inc. carries Renew® for effective denture cleaning.
